Acupuncture involves the use of fine, single-use needles that are inserted into the body at very specific points. This process is known to effectively reduce symptoms by balancing & regulating bodily functions, therefore balancing the body’s own homeostasis.
Acupuncture stimulates the body into producing ‘feel good’ hormones such as dopamine, serotonin, & analgesics to manage and improve these conditions both acute and chronic. Acupuncture triggers the immune & vascular system which promotes healing, therefore beneficial for post-operative rehabilitation of fractures, joint replacements and spinal surgeries.
Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities can include; Moxabustion, cupping, Chinese massage and ear acupuncture.
Most people describe Acupuncture as a tingling, numb, aching or heavy sensation. This is known as Deqi – the arrival of Qi, most people report a feeling of relaxation post treatment.
Because Acupuncture works on the whole body, change can be generated emotionally as well as physically.
